The eight-
thousanders
The eight-thousanders are a group of
fourteen mountains on Earth whose
peaks lie 8,000 metres (26,247 ft) above
sea level in the so-called death zone,
where there is not enough oxygen for
humans to breathe.
Located in the Himalayas and
Karakoram mountain ranges of Asia,
these peaks are highly coveted in the
mountaineering world.
