A recent experience that stands out is Qatar ’ s mediation between the United States and the Taliban .
Despite difficult geopolitical conditions and challenges that have hit the country in recent decades , our mediation efforts succeeded in bringing both parties to a historic agreement , resulting in a momentous signing ceremony in Doha in February 2020 .
Undoubtedly , this work will remain firmly embedded in Qatar ’ s mediation history for decades to come , underscoring the importance of mediation not only for the State of Qatar but also highlighting our position as a reliable international and regional mediator amid the most complex and trying circumstances .
