Pathway to Peace
EAA is an international foundation set up in 2012 by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser . Its mission is to bring hope and opportunities to improve the lives of poor and marginalised children , youth , and women .
Dr . Malik has led PEIC ’ s policy research , thought leadership and advocacy since 2017 , while also mentoring younger colleagues in the field . She is one of the foundation ’ s many dedicated advocates who contribute to the organisation ’ s work on a daily basis .
“ It is crucial to prioritise education during situations of conflict because that is precisely when the power of education is most needed ”, says Dr . Malik .
Dr . Malik ’ s journey into the realm of global development began as an undergraduate law student , where she gained a passion for the field during a project in Jordan . Since then , her career has led her to embark on projects around the world , from developing higher education institutions in Pakistan and India to legal reform in Vietnam .
Bringing this experience to EAA , Dr . Malik describes how the foundation ’ s mission to transform lives during times of conflict sets it apart as an ambitious organisation , committed to breaking barriers and ensuring universal access to education .
