While not every mediation leads to immediate conflict resolution , we strongly believe that bringing groups together to discuss their differences is a critical first step towards peace and reconciliation . As a result of our work , " the Doha Accords " and " the Doha Peace Agreement " have become globally synonymous with diplomatic mediation on the world stage .

Within the global network of actors working to strengthen the multilateral system , the United Nations stands as an unparalleled vehicle for international collaboration . Through Qatar ' s partnerships with the UN , we lead international peacebuilding initiatives , supporting global development , promoting human rights , and addressing the numerous challenges facing the world . The opening of the United Nations House in Doha in March 2023 represents a symbolic deepening of Qatar ’ s commitment to this partnership .

Humanitarian aid continues to be a pillar of Qatar ’ s contribution to the global community , as we collaborate with our partners to alleviate poverty , hunger , and unemployment , creating a lasting impact on the lives of millions of people . Over the past decade , Qatar has undertaken countless humanitarian and development operations across the world led by the Qatar Fund for Development , Education Above All , Qatar Red Crescent Society , and other charitable groups .
